Cardano (ADA) Weekly Development Report

The week is off to a good start at Cardano (ADA). Indeed, its teams are hard at work developing the group’s various projects. From corrections to modifications, nothing is left to chance by the professionals at Cardano.

core technology

This week, Core Technology teams continue to advance the registry, consensus, and network.

Version 13.1.0.0-rc2, which the DB Sync team is working on, includes several DB Sync improvements. It strengthens restores and synchronization, simplifies schemas, fixes a number of issues, and adds migrations.

Wallets and services

The Daedalus team is testing the new Cardano (ADA) application on Ledger and Trezor firmware this week. They are also working on improving analytics tracking of CPU/RAM usage and Byron wallets. Additionally, the Cicero migration is underway with the help of the Developer Experience (DevX) team. The interaction between the DApp application and the Lace desktop application is also being improved by the Daedalus team.

In the Adrestia team, there is resilience to get cardano-js-sdk ready for production use. The team is also working on the implementation of build-balance library (balanceTx) and multisig function (shared wallets) in cardano-wallet.

Smart contracts

The Plutus team, meanwhile, is continuing its efforts this week to extend functionality Plutus Debugger and MVP scripts. As for the Marlowe team, they provide tests for the Marlowe Runtime, create a number of unit tests, and facilitate the use of Nix Flakes in Marlowe Playground.

Basho (scaling)

The Hydra team is currently working on some ongoing projects, extending its Model-Based Testing (MBT) methodology to transaction creation and observation. They fixed the “AcquirePointTooOld” issues on the hydra node and changed the initialization of the wallet.

Governance

Project Catalyst is hosting voting for Circle V4 this week, which is open until December 16 (23:45 UTC). A grassroots innovation effort that grew into a community-driven organization. Indeed, the heart of Project Catalyst remains the Cardano community, which has the opportunity to freely express its opinions.

Overall, the various projects that Cardano is developing point to a promising 2023. The most important of these being the Catalyst project, which plays a leading role in the development and innovation of Cardano (ADA).
