What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a social coding event where programmers, designers and developers collaborate to solve a problem and compete for cash Prizes. It is an intense and limited competition at the time when the teams work to create functional solutions.

Who can participate? Are there any prerequisites?

Anyone can participate. Although coding experience is beneficial, teams also need presenters, designers and strategists with solid problems in problem solving.

Can I participate remotely?

No, this event takes place entirely on site in Madrid.

Is there an age requirement?

Participants must be at least 18 years old. An identity verification will be required during registration.

Do I need a team?

Teams of three to five people are required. If you don't have a team, the event organizers will assign one.

What skills are necessary?

During registration, participants must select a role:

  • Developer
  • Designer
  • Business strategist

A license diploma or equivalent experience is recommended, but prior professional experience is not required.

How much does it cost?

Participation is free.

Should I bring my own computer?

Yes, computers are not provided. Participants must bring their own laptop.

Can I stay there?

Yes, there will be an area designated with bunk beds for participants wishing to stay on site.

Are meals provided?

Yes, food and drinks will be available throughout the event.

What challenges are we going to resolve?

Details of the challenges will be announced shortly before the event. Participants must expect to work on blockchain, IA, IoT and digital transformation projects.

How will the projects be judged?

The teams will present their solutions during a preliminary round, where mentors and staff will provide returns. The selected projects will go to the final judgment round during the award ceremony.

Who will be the judges?

The jury will include industry experts, including engineers, AI scientists and blockchain specialists. The complete jury will be announced before the event.

Who has the work created during the hackathon?

The organizers and sponsors do not claim any property rights on the projects submitted. Participants retain all rights over their work.

Will the winners receive a job or a contract?

The winners do not automatically receive a job offer. However, those who receive an incubation prize will have the opportunity to further develop their project with funding and strategic support.

Are there other upcoming hackathons?

What programming languages ​​will be used?

Java, Python or C ++ are recommended. A tool kit for developers, including access to Testnet, will be provided.
