Strategy buys 250 bitcoins at an average price of $86,194

After Michael Saylor sent a signal suggesting another buy, Strategy took action. According to his press release published on Monday, the company spent $21.5 million to acquire 250 bitcoins between October 5 and 11. The average price was $86,194 per unit, including fees. This operation carries its reserves at 848,250 BTC, a new record.

In total, it has invested $64 billion in these assets, at an average cost of $75,444 per bitcoin. To fund the purchase, it sold nearly 125,000 shares of MSTR common stock through its at-the-market offering program. This sale brought him $21 million.

Strategy completed the financing with $500,000 in cash and did not sell any preferred shares during the week. It also announced a gain of $21 billion in the third quarter.

A massive buyback of STRC preferred shares

In parallel with its purchases, Strategy repurchased 1,932,145 STRC shares, its preferred Stretch variable rate securities. It spent $192.4 million on this operation. After this repurchase, $354.8 million remains available in the program dedicated to these actions.

The company had recently proposed calculating dividends from its preference shares on 365 days a year. No sales of preferred shares accompanied the operations during the week of October 5 to 11.

Strategy also noted that it could sell up to $1.25 billion worth of bitcoin under its digital financing program. In September, its chief executive, Phong Le, defended a bitcoin sale as a wise move. A few weeks later, the company had set a record after a purchase of 143 million dollars.

Dollar reserves remain a central element

As of October 11, Strategy held $4.88 billion in reserve to cover preferred dividends and interest on its debt. She also had $640.5 million in cash for needs, including future bitcoin purchases. These amounts meet distinct uses.

The company had set aside a reserve of $1.44 billion, then separated its cash after raising $2 billion through the sale of MSTR shares. This organization distinguishes funds intended for payments from liquidity available for other needs.

According to the prediction platform Myriadparticipants estimate the probability that Strategy will hold more than 1 million BTC before 2027 is just 5%. The pace of acquisitions and financing decisions will remain key to tracking its bitcoin reserves.

Strategy continues to accumulate BTC while adjusting its funding and reserves. Its record reserves coexist with liquidity dedicated to dividends, interest and current needs. The next decisions will make it possible to assess whether this dynamic continues until the end of the year.
