In brief

  • Strategy acquired an additional 1,665 bitcoins for $142.7 million, bringing its total reserves to 847,666 BTC.
  • Strategy offers a daily payment of its preferred dividends and finances its purchases through the issuance of MSTR shares.
  • Strive strengthens its positions with the purchase of 1,107 BTC, reaching over 27,000 bitcoins in cash.

Strategy crosses 4% mark of bitcoin money supply

According to the latest 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Strategy acquired an additional 1,665 bitcoins between September 21 and 27, 2026, for approximately $142.7 million. The entire transaction occurred at an average price of $85,681 per unit. Thanks to this purchase, the firm led by Michael Saylor now holds a total of 847,666 BTC, representing a cumulative acquisition cost of approximately $64 billion (or an average price of $75,437 per bitcoin).

At the current price, the total value of this bitcoin portfolio held by Strategy exceeds $70.6 billion, generating unrealized capital gains estimated at $6.6 billion. On a macroeconomic level, this volume of assets takes on a major symbolic dimension because Strategy today controls more than 4% of the maximum supply of 21 million bitcoins. This transaction was funded through an in-market Class A common stock sales program (MSTR), which raised $246.2 million over the previous week.

MSTR Model Accelerates

Beyond the raw purchase of bitcoin coins, Strategy is evolving the financial structure of its equity securities to maximize their attractiveness to institutional investors. The company therefore submitted to its shareholders a proposal aimed at converting the frequency of payment of dividends from its preferred shares (STRC, STRD, STRF, STRK) to a daily rate. The measure will then be put to a vote on October 28. If the amendment is adopted, the STRC series will switch to this daily model from November 1, 2026, followed by the other categories during the month of January 2027.

This operational change at Strategy does not change the rates of return or the overall amount of the company’s obligations to its investors, but just provides increased liquidity and enhanced predictability in the capital market. This dynamic of financial innovation continues to drive MSTR stock, which recorded an increase of 16.1% over the past week.

Strive also strengthens its bitcoin reserve with an additional 1,107 BTC

The strategy conceptualized by Strategy no longer remains an isolated model because in a message published by Matt Cole (@ColeMacro), the company Strive confirmed the acquisition of 1,107 additional bitcoins for an amount of $94.5 million, realized at an average price of $85,396 per BTC. This new transaction brings Strive’s total outstanding amount to 27,462 BTC, now valued at more than $2.3 billion.

Strive then clarified that the exercise of warrants (warrants) generated an additional $12.4 million, and that 85% of the capital raised came from its SATA vehicle. Strive’s initiative illustrates the spread of the corporate reserve model, where listed companies use equity markets to convert fiat liquidity into Bitcoin foreign exchange reserves. To date, nearly 200 public companies around the world have integrated BTC into their treasury strategy.

What to learn from Strategy which strengthens its bitcoin reserves?

  1. With 847,666 BTC in wallet, Strategy alone now holds more than 4% of the total mass of Bitcoin, provided by the protocol.
  2. Strategy is seeking to implement daily dividend payments on its preferred shares to bolster demand for its MSTR securities.
  3. The purchase of 1,107 BTC by Strive confirms that the race to accumulate bitcoin cash is extending to other listed financial players.

The race for Bitcoin reserves by Wall Street companies is gradually transforming the functioning of stock markets. By combining the issuance of common stock, the management of cash reserves and the structuring of dividends, players like Strategy and Strive are creating direct liquidity bridges between TradFi and crypto. Do you think Strive will succeed in overtaking Michael Saylor in BTC cash?
