Bitcoin Reacts Positively to Hong Kong's Approval of Spot ETFs

After their brilliant breakthrough in the United States at the start of the year, Bitcoin ETFs continue to expand. This time, it is China which is opening its arms to cryptocurrency in a more institutional form: trackers. The SFC, guardian of local finances, thus gives its approval for the launch of these products in the region. One more step towards the legitimacy of Bitcoin, leading to a rush towards digital assets. Curiously, this announcement was greeted by a surge in BTC, once again crossing the $66,000 mark.

The green light found

After one descent into hell due to tensions in the Middle East, Bitcoin is going green again. Hong Kong's approval of Bitcoin Spot ETFs triggered this rally. Despite a sharp fall to $62,700, the cryptocurrency rebounded vigorously to $66,650, posting considerable gains.

The acceptance of Bitcoin ETFs also marks a two-step turning point for the adoption of crypto, as Pierre-Yves Dittlot, founder & CEO of Ledgity, points out:

The introduction of Bitcoin ETFs marks a watershed moment for the institutional acceptance of crypto-assets as an investment asset class in its own right. Their acceptance will allow much more massive adoption of Bitcoin through its integration into asset allocations.

Also, Bitcoin could well mark a decisive week with the halving planned in the coming days. This halving of block rewards is seen by some as a signal of an imminent bull run for BTC.

However, other experts temper these expectations by pointing out that the effects may not be immediate.
