Cash App, instant bitcoin transactions via LN

The news was announced by Michael Rihani himself, the current Bitcoin Product Manager of Cash App. On Tuesday, October 25, he tweeted this:

You can now receive #bitcoins instantly through the Lighning Network on @CashApp!

The purchase of bitcoins becomes possible on Cash App

If before Cash app users only had a choice to send BTC via the Lightning Network, this update will completely change the situation. Indeed, this mobile payment service developed by Square Inc. will, from now on, authorize the reception of bitcoins.

Only downside: this extension will only benefit US Cash App customers for the moment. You still have to live outside New York State to be a beneficiary.

This feature is currently available to Cash App customers in the United States, excluding residents of New York State. »

How to take advantage of this new feature?

Since its inception in 2013, Cash App has made it easy to transfer, manage and invest money for its customers. Several features have since been added to this application: sending invoices, paying for purchases, Cash Card, bank transfers, etc.

Tips for better using Cash App

To be able to take advantage of these conveniences, you must download the Cash App application via the App Store or Google Play. Next comes the creation of a user name, or $cashtag, with which it is possible to carry out transactions with ease.

Former Cash App customers will not have to follow this procedure. They will simply be asked to open the app, enter the “Money” tab and select Bitcoin. Upon the appearance of a QR code or the link intended for this purpose, receiving or sending BTC becomes possible.

With 40 million users under its belt, Cash App is sure to democratize bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at high speed. Jack Dorsey was right to bet on the Lightning Network to achieve this.
