Even more intriguing, BreachForums user Miembro recently revealed the sale of access to Binance’s data request portal. He claims to have obtained unauthorized access to the Binance data request portal for $10,000.
At this time, the extent of data sold is uncertain. As is the question of whether they have found other buyers. What is certain, however, is that the affair is the talk of the town, giving rise to concerns and speculation.
The plot of the portal access method
Currently, the process used to access this portal, deemed secure, one imagines, is a mystery. However, researchers at Hudson Rock, an Israeli cybercrime intelligence company, have a lead.
They say malware in law enforcement centers in Taiwan, Uganda and the Philippines may have facilitated access. Furthermore, it appears that Binance allows access to the police database via Kodex Global.
Contacted for clarification on the incident, the crypto exchange provided no public response to cybersecurity experts Kodex Global. In the meantime, Binance crypto users have concerns.
Indeed, the situation exposes their sensitive information, involving emails, phone numbers, wallet addresses and identifiers, to risks. Including phishing or harassment attacks, among others.
