Peter Schiff is one of bitcoin’s fiercest critics. In recent months, he has missed almost no opportunity to criticize the asset by regularly calling it quits. Today, he is implementing a crypto project on the Bitcoin blockchain. And his action questions.
Peter Schiff’s NFT project, a hypocrisy?
In mid-April, investor Peter Schiff once again presented himself as a prophet of doom calling for the abandonment of bitcoin. A position that he has been defending for several months, because according to him, the asset would have no intrinsic value. It is not like gold, which has all its confidence!
However, despite this stated position, the entrepreneur will launch, next month, a crypto initiative based on the Bitcoin blockchain. It is strictly speaking a collection of NFTs. This collection, called “Golden Triumph”, includes a physical painting in oil, on a linen canvas.
The work of art represents a human hand, holding a bar of gold, reproduced in 50 paper copies. A digital reproduction of the artistic piece is also made in 50 copies registered in the form of Bitcoin Ordinals. The set will be auctioned from June 2 to 9.

It was in a Twitter discussion thread posted this Saturday, May 27 that Schiff unveiled the project. The latter seems to have caused mixed reactions within the crypto community. Given Peter Schiff’s anti-bitcoin stance, his commitment to this project is puzzling.
In a comment, the LoneStartBitcoin tweet quips: “So…it’s nice to put your gold entries on the bitcoin blockchain, but bitcoin itself has no value? “. ” That’s right “replied Schiff who seems to have no interest in the opinion of users.
Obviously, for the investor, one can criticize a crypto that is only a scam and appreciate the technology behind it. Rather hypocritical, no?
