Flybondi is now one of those companies investing in NFTs. The Argentinian airline has just introduced Web3 in its ticketing operations.
Flybondi: the first airline to offer NFT tickets
Flybondi is now one of many companies to invest in NFTs. Through its approach, the low-cost Argentinian airline proves that it is quite possible to exploit this blockchain technology to improve the traditional ticketing system.
In A press release published on March 29, Flybondi announces the issuance of NFT tickets. Thus, each ticket becomes a one-of-a-kind digital asset. What offers each passenger a personalized and secure way to travel.
In practice, NFTs are generated when booking. They are then stored in the passenger’s Flybondi account, allowing them to easily retrieve and verify it. That’s not all ! NFT tickets also allow each passenger to change their name or to transfer and sell your NFT-ticket independently.
Flybondi even goes so far as to claim that NFT tickets ensure a more flexible travel experience. Thanks to NFT tickets, it is in fact possible to buy in advance without having to define your travel plans or provide the name of the passenger.
The result of a fruitful collaboration between Flybondi and TravelX
New Web3 ticketing service of Flybondi has been baptized Ticket 3.0. It is an extension of its collaboration with ticketing company NFT TravelX which launched its first project in September 2022.
TravelX is the leading travel platform built on the Algorand blockchain. It makes it possible to integrate NFTs into the airline’s ticketing system on the one hand (and this, in a transparent manner). TravelX also presents itself as a secondary market where travelers can sell their NFT tickets.
Through its NFT tickets, Flybondi and TravelX intend to offer travelers a new experience. It remains to be seen whether this project will have the desired effect and result!
