A crypto nugget? “I will never authorize the creation of a CBDC,” says Donald Trump

Most governments not keen on cryptocurrencies opt for the most centralized variant of digital assets, the CBDC. Like China, the United States, under the Biden era, has a crush on central bank digital currency. A position that Donald Trump, Republican favorite for the next presidential elections, categorically rejects.

Trump, crypto rather than CBDC?

So far, Donald Trump has not officially expressed his position on cryptocurrencies. However, the discovery of a rich ether (ETH) trove in his name has sparked speculation about possible new investments in the crypto community. The fact that he has already amassed three NFT collections, the last of which was released last December, is a testament to his familiarity with Web 3.0 technologies.

Donald Trump says: ‘As president, I will never authorize the creation of a central bank digital currency. Such a currency would give our federal government absolute control over your money.’ »

Cointelegraph pointed out that candidate Donald Trump was warmly applauded by the crowd by promising to eliminate central bank digital currencies (CBNCs) once he returns to the White House. In the context of the 2024 US presidential elections, where he is expected to face Joe Biden, Trump brilliantly passed his first test in Iowa last Monday.

During his campaign in Portsmouth (New Hampshire) on January 17, the 44th President of the United States added a new promise to his commitment to the mass expulsion of migrants: that of NEVER allowing the creation of a CBDC in the States -United.

Tonight, I’m making a new promise to protect Americans from government tyranny. I will never authorize the creation of a digital currency by a central bank “, he insisted.

Feeling in tune with his audience, Donald Trump continued:

I didn’t know you knew so much… New Hampshire, very intelligent people. Such a currency would give a federal government, our federal government, absolute control of your money […] they could take your money and you wouldn’t even know it was missing. This would be a dangerous threat to freedom and I will prevent him from coming to America. »

Other influential figures share this innovative vision

The 2024 US presidential elections are heating up with pro-crypto candidates from both camps (Republican and Democrat). Ron Desantis has already promised an end to Biden’s war on Bitcoin (BTC) and rules out any form of CBDC in the American financial landscape.

Vivek Ramaswamy, initially a candidate for the Republican nomination, also integrated cryptos into his program before rallying behind Donald Trump.

On the Democratic side, Bitcoin has passionate advocates such as JF Kennedy Jr.

Last October, FED Governor Michelle Bowman said she did not see a compelling case for CBDCs.
