SHAKA Festival 2026: In Biarritz, French tech trades the conference room for the beach
Summarize this article with:

A tech conference where we sign as many deals on the surfboard as in the networking space. It is the bet of SHAKA Festivalreturning to the Cité de l’Océan in Biarritz from September 24 to 26, 2026. Founders, CTOs and investors come for a format that assumes its “anti-conference” side and for a set that mixes crypto, AI and French institutions. SHAKA Festival 2026: In Biarritz, French tech trades the conference room for the beach

In brief

  • Dates: September 24-26, 2026, Cité de l’Océan, Biarritz (reception from 9 a.m. on the 24th, closing on the 26th at 2 p.m.).
  • More than 2,500 participants, 80+ speakers, 100+ companies and 30+ media announced by the organizers.
  • A rare mix: crypto partners (Binance, Crypto.com, Polkadot, Solana) alongside BPI France, Airbus and the Basque Country Urban Community.
  • Ticketing in waves: Early Bird €120 sold out, Regular €190 in progress, Last Wave €240 to come.
  • The code WELOVECOINT reduces the Regular to €152 (−20%), within the limit of a partner quota of 100 tickets.

A festival that assumes not to resemble a conference

The positioning is based on a formula that the festival itself claims: “no actors, no consultants”. On site, we meet founders, technical directors, investors and makers, not the professionals on the panel. The program is calibrated for the meeting: SHAKA Awards ceremony and opening evening on the first evening, surf & yoga session on the second day, then walk to the Biarritz lighthouse and brunch facing the ocean to close. The “dealflow as much as surfboard” format is not an empty slogan: it is the mechanics of connecting.

This is not a first attempt either. Born in 2022 under the name NFT Biarritz, the event was renamed SHAKA in 2024 to broaden its spectrum to AI and tech in the broad sense, and is now celebrating its fifth edition. Tremplin.io covers the 2026 edition: we detailed the program and the first speakers a few weeks ago. Behind the organization, we find the Dupont brothers, Damien, director of OpenGem, and Franck, CTO of nüme.

Binance next to BPI France: a platform with variable geometry

This is perhaps the true signature of SHAKA: the cohabitation of universes which rarely intersect. On the crypto ecosystem side, the stands bring together Binance, Crypto.com, Polkadot, Solana and the CES Web3 Tokenization Village. On the institutional and industrial side, we find BPI France, Airbus or the Basque Country agglomeration. A mix which explains the reputation of the event with both a Web3 and “traditional tech” audience.

The panel of speakers follows the same logic. Among the names already confirmed: Paul Midy, MP involved in tech issues, Rachel Delacour (CEO of Sweep), Francis Lelong (CEO of Alegria Groupe), Sylvain Theveniaud (Allianz Accelerator) or Hervé Bloch (Le Fund), alongside Maider Arosteguy, mayor of Biarritz. Further announcements are expected in the weeks leading up to the event, so the list is not set in stone.

A useful clarification for the French reader: the presence of a platform as a partner or exhibitor is part of the sponsorship of the event, not a recommendation. Certain services presented on site are subject to access restrictions depending on the jurisdiction, each person must check their eligibility.

How much does it cost, and what the code changes

The ticket office works in stages, and the first has already fallen: the Early Bird at €120 is sold out. The Regular price, at €190, is the one in force, before a final Last Wave level at €240. Each ticket covers all three days, including meals and drinks, as well as sports activities and evening events. Waiting is therefore mechanically more expensive.

With the code WELOVECOINTthe reduction of −20% applies to the current rate, i.e. €152 instead of €190 Today. The code is capped at a partner quota of 100 tickets and stops working once this threshold is reached, or at the end of the event, whichever comes first. Travel and accommodation in Biarritz remain your responsibility.

There remains a question that the format implicitly poses: can a festival that focuses as much on surfing as on round tables remain a serious business venue as it grows? Organizers are aiming for 2,500 people this year. See you on September 24-26, between two waves, to see if the balance holds.

👉 Book your SHAKA Festival Biarritz 2026 ticket and enter the code WELOVECOINT to payment for −20%. Offer subject to availability of partner quota (100 tickets).
