Private life on Ethereum: the radical roadmap of Vitalik Buterin

Too transparent to be free? Ethereum, this decentralized factory with encrypted dreams, drags a tare in her code: private life, she does not really have any case. Each click, each transaction, each interaction is engraved in the public marble of the blockchain. The ideal cypherpunk of a sovereign internet seems to have diluted in a smart contract soup trace infinitely. But now Vitalik buterin rolled up his sleeves. The co -founder of the ethereal Empire offers a pragmatic roadmap, not to revolutionize everything … but to finally protect the average user as a real citizen of the web3.

A four -story vision for a regaded intimacy

In an austere but sharp post, Vitalik Buterin identifies the Four critical zones where privacy is humiliated daily:

  • payments on the chain (visible to all, all the time);
  • interactions in DAPPS (a real logbook for curious malicious);
  • Readings via RPC (you consult, we follow you);
  • And the network itself, which tags your movements better than GPS.

His goal ? No big cryptographic evening, but A series of concrete correctives which do not require any overhaul of layer 1. We optimize what exists. We add a suspicion of strategy.

And above all, We act without delay the holy update of Ethereum 4.0.

Discreet portfolios, well -felt standards

Metamask, Rabby and all the others are called upon to wake up. No more extensions that expose you like a light sign. Buterin wants them natively to integrate tools like Railgun or Privacy Pools. The user will not have to choose between anonymity and simplicity: he will have a default “armored” balance, and discreet payment options at click.

Another radical change offered: a different address by application. Less practical? Certainly. But as Vitalik says, ” It's a ball to swallow ». Because this fragmentation breaks bridges between uses and makes surveillance much more difficult.

And so as not to grill your own addresses between them, sending funds to yourself must also become invisible by default. It's cryptographic common sense: you don't leave crumbs when you want to blur the tracks.

Sweet resistance: RPC, mixnets and shared evidence

Buerin's technical arsenal does not stop there. It pushes to adopt Focil and EIP-7701, two standards which would allow the Privacy Protocols to operate without relaying or central points. This is the key to escape censorship, while fluidifying uses.

But discretion also goes through the RPCs. Today, questioning the chain is like stretching its identity card. The solution? Trusted Execution around (TEE) for the short term, then, PIR systems when technology is ripe. And above all, go through mixnets, these VPNs transferred to anonymity ninja.

Another tip: aggregation of evidence. By merging several transactions in a single cryptographic proof, the costs are reduced and the adoption is facilitated. All without losing the essence of “Zero Knowledge”.

Finally, Buterin evokes portfolios capable of changing keys without exposing the old ones, offering everyone the right to be reborn digitally, without anyone being able to go up their history.

Key points to remember:

  • Vitalik offers a minimum, but ambitious roadmap for private life;
  • The objective: no public link between apps, and default anonymous payments;
  • The Focil and EIP-7701 standards are at the heart of the project;
  • Wallets must turn between several RPCs, ideally via mixnets;
  • Everything can be implemented without affecting the consensus of Ethereum.

The message is clear: no need to vote a technical revolution to win back privacy. The site is played out here and now, in wallets, standards and habits. It is a gentle, but fundamental reform. As the tweet reminded by Vitalik: ” Make Ethereum Cypherpunk Again Is not a slogan. It is an act of resistance.
