Since the April 2024 halving, the price of bitcoin has stagnated, but experts remain optimistic about a possible increase. Valiant crypto analyst Peter Brandt predicts a significant increase, although this rise will take time to materialize.
Peter Brandt Predictions: Bitcoin at $150,000 by 2025?
Peter Brandt, crypto expert and bitcoin enthusiast, anticipates that bitcoin could reach $130,000-$150,000 range by September 2025. This projection is based on historical models where halvings of bitcoin have often marked the start of significant bullish cycles.
In April 2024, the 4e halving Bitcoin slashed rewards for BTC miners by 50%, an event that has traditionally preceded substantial increases in the price of bitcoin.
Brandt emphasizes in his blog post that past halvings have created “almost perfect symmetry” in bullish cycles. According to him, the current bull market would have started in December 2022, approximately 16 months before the recent halving, matching historical trends seen in previous cycles.
Despite an increase of more than 311% since December 2022bitcoin has not yet surpassed its all-time high of $73,750 reached in March 2024. Brandt tempers his optimism by citing a 25% probability that bitcoin has already reached the peak of this bull cycle, emphasizing the decrease in returns over cycles.
Risk of Exponential Decay: A Crucial Warning
Peter Brandt also warns against a scenario of “ exponential decay » if bitcoin fails to surpass its previous all-time high and falls below $55,000. This situation could lead to a sudden and lasting fall in the price of bitcoinrepresenting a major risk for investors.
Right now, bitcoin is trading around $69,059, with an increase of 1.5% in the last 24 hours and a record trading volume of $22.58 billion, an increase of 100%.
Cross the $70,000 mark is crucial to pave the way to new highs, in line with the predictions of Brandt, this proven anti-Ethereum.
However, history shows that cryptocurrency markets can be extremely volatile and unpredictable. Indeed, despite patterns and trends, technical analysis is not infallible and projections should be approached with caution. Brandt himself admits the limits of technical analysis, emphasizing that no method is guaranteed to predict the future with certainty.
The future trajectory of bitcoin remains uncertain. Although substantial increases are expected, investors should also prepare for potential downside risks.
