Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) unveils his new crypto project named Giggle Academy. This free, gamified educational platform aims to make education accessible to everyone, without generating revenue.
CZ announces new crypto project, Giggle Academy
A few months ago, Changpeng Zhao left his position as CEO of Binance, an exchange giant, following an agreement with the American justice system. Today, after a long period of absence from social networks, he returns to the forefront with Giggle Academy, an innovative educational project which aims to provide free access to basic education for all.
In a tweet published on March 18, CZ reveals its vision: a fun and adaptive, non-profit learning platform. “ Building a high-quality educational platform, completely free and accessible to everyone“, this remains the objective displayed in the document concept of Giggle Academy.
Giggle Academy does not aim to replace traditional school. On the other hand, this project seeks to offer better prospects to young people in regions where access to education remains limited.
As CZ explains, it’s not about sending “a 13-year-old to a university in a developed country.” The objective is rather to enable this child “to obtain a better job, which he would not have obtained otherwise”.
From Binance to Giggle Academy: CZ’s educational bet
Giggle Academy positions itself as a platform without an economic model, a philanthropic project for CZ after his fortune built in cryptocurrencies. For now, Giggle Academy has published three job offers, relating to content creation and game development.
The main challenge will be to make the platform accessible despite Internet limitations in certain regions. CZ is considering partnerships, emphasizing that “ most rural villages have at least one connection“.
This project marks a new chapter for Changpeng Zhao, a few months after his forced departure from Binance. Although the details of his scheduled sentencing at the end of April are not known, he appears determined to make a positive impact.
This is not the first time that Changpeng Zhao has announced a project since his departure from the management of Binance. Indeed, last November, he had already mentioned on Twitter his desire to invest in a research project, mixing crypto and medical or biotechnological research, like Etica.
In short, with Giggle Academy, CZ continues along this path of using technology for social purposes. There is no doubt that the evolution of this educational platform will be closely followed, given the notoriety of its founder. If it keeps its promises, Giggle Academy could well revolutionize access to education around the world.
