The 3 most expensive NFTs of the year
While the crypto market is showing remarkable performance at the end of the year, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are also getting a lot of attention. However, there has been a slight drop in prices for these digital works this year.
In the ranking of the 10 most expensive NFTs of 2023 by The Block, Les CryptoPunks and the Bored Apes have clearly topped the rankings. We still note the notable presence of an outsider: a NFT Fidenza by Tyler Hobbs. Here are the Three Most Expensive NFTs of 2023:
In first place, we find the CryptoPunks #5066, sold for 857 ETH on February 6. At the ETH price at this time, this equates to $1.388 million. In second place, we find the Ape Yacht Club #7090, sold for 800 ETH on February 7, or $1.312 million. In third place we find Fidenza #545 for 625 ETH.

Bored Ape and CryptoPunks dominate the rankings
Clearly, the year 2023 was marked by the domination of Yuga Labs’ NFT projects. These collections literally exploded the most expensive sales, with no less than eight notable transactions out of ten!
Despite an up-and-down year for NFT sales, prices for flagship collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks have seen significant declines. According to data from The Blockthese two collections saw their prices drop by 57.6% and 13.8% respectively between January 1 and November 28, 2023.
However, this did not prevent BAYC and CryptoPunks from establishing themselves as the undisputed stars of the most expensive NFT sales of the year. It’s a safe bet that these figures will continue to be talked about in 2024.
